LOST SHORE SURF RESORT

Lost Shore Surf Resort is a world-class destination combining adventure, luxury, and relaxation. Designed for surfers of all levels, the resort features cutting-edge wave technology, alternative activities and premium accommodation, all set within a country park.

The concept for the signage family has its roots in the wild nature of surfing in Scotland and the tall grasses that grow at some popular surf spots around our coastline. By re-using surplus structural rebar from site, we created a framework for the signage that took inspiration from this unique landscape whilst reflecting the past industrial nature of the site.

A primary corten sign at the entrance leads visitor into the site, followed by way-finding finger post signs and orientation maps. Smaller markers using a single folded rebar post create a breadcrumb trail which visitors to follow to accommodation. A feature fence makes the link between the signage and the threshold to the surfing cove also featuring a combination of different grades of rebar. Other detail includes a corten steel grille around a tree which indicates the direction and distance to surf breaks around Scotland.
